Cut-and-paste, archive film footage and
audio from 1969 of Apollo 11’s Saturn V rocket. The towering
Saturn V provided the necessary thrust for astronauts to break
free from Earth’s gravity. In this video multiple camera
angles of the split-second before lift-off are subtly edited
and looped to extend the moment indefinately. The seductive
imagery and thunderous soundtrack build in speed and intensity
to create an unsettling video installation in which the Saturn
V is confined to Earth. |
