Archive recordings of bird impersonator Edward Avis and budgerigar Sparkie Williams are spliced to form a 'call and response' between left and right speakers. Avis mimics calls from British songbirds and Sparkie answers in English. In part the work alludes to romantic notions of a lost, Arcadian England.

Unheimlichkeit has been shown in many exhibitions since 1998 including: Puppylove, Ikon Gallery touring; Proyecto Tenerife, Spain and most recently Flock, Spacex Gallery, Exeter.
